The Enterprise Cloud Architect will provide contract advisory and assistance support to the implementation and oversight of the NMEC Modernization cloud computing strategy. The Enterprise Cloud Architect will work in a hands-on capacity on Lean Portfolio Management, Enterprise Solution Delivery, and Agile Product Delivery. The Enterprise Cloud Architect will serve by leading design and technical discussions and assisting in the evolution of NMEC cloud and infrastructure adoption. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Provide contract advisory and assistance support in developing the public or hybrid cloud strategies aligned with NMEC's objectives. * Provide contract advisory and assistance leadership support in largescale infrastructure migration methodologies and techniques (IaaS/PaaS) including application migrations to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS and / or GCP) within NMEC environments. * Assist NMEC in defining the business case for cloud solutions, design the solution to help with prototyping and development with focus on DevOps, and take solution through to launch. * Serve as a technology advisor in cloud computing and become a trusted advisor to decision makers. * Demonstrate a well-balanced approach to addressing complex infrastructure concepts. * Maintain awareness of and evaluate emerging cloud capabilities, technologies and tools, develop technical domain roadmaps pertinent to public cloud technologies and capabilities * Provide contract advisory and assistance support in designing cloud solution resources, both IaaS and PaaS, that enable the business to securely run sensitive workloads within a cloud environment. Architecting and designing large scale enterprise infrastructure and integration patterns for cloud environments. * Provide contract advisory and assistance support in driving NMEC Modernization initiatives as it relates to developing the cloud/infrastructure practice. * Provide contract advisory and assistance support in designing and implementing infrastructure, platforms, and services required for public/private/hybrid cloud computing * Engage and collaborate with stakeholders to understand mission needs and cultural issues and formulate sound strategies and plans for cloud adoption * Provide contract advisory and assistance support in leading legacy cloud readiness assessments for legacy applications * Work with security, infrastructure, networking, and applications engineering teams to implement and maintain integrated edge-to-core security * Evaluate NMEC current and future capabilities providing recommendation to procure efficient, advanced, cost-effective services and technology * Identify and evaluate costs, risks, and efficiencies of expanding and enhancing current cloud services * Maintain a variety of platform technology, including application performance monitoring, automated cloud provisioning templates, and automated bootstrap and configuration management code. * Provide input on industry standards and collaborate with fellow team leaders on the prioritization and execution of ongoing platform improvement initiatives. * Support cloud solutions, templates, and backend business logic/orchestration layer. * Work very closely with Cloud Broker, Accounts, and Program Management teams. Required Qualifications: * Experience in the development of object-oriented software with languages like Java, C++, Python or Ruby ideally in SOA applications. Demonstrated understanding of networking and core Internet protocols (e.g. TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP, and distributed networks). Demonstrated understanding of industry standards for building services in IaaS/PaaS/SaaS in Cloud environments. Experience with private/public/hybrid cloud model design, implementation, orchestration, and support Experienced with cloud deployment, operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting Hands-on experience with AWS or Azure government cloud and public cloud architecture and core services Experience driving discussions with senior management regarding trade-offs, best practices, project management and risk mitigation Experience with IT security compliance and risk management requirements Possess at least one cloud-related certification from AWS, Azure, Cloud+, Cisco or equivalent AWS Certified Solution Architect - Professional, MCSE: Cloud Platform and Infrastructure, or CCNP - Cloud certification Education Qualifications: Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or other related scientific or technical discipline.
