Workflow Web Application Development for a Construction Company

New-age businesses are increasingly embracing digital platforms to manage their operations. Small to big businesses are major contributors fuelling the growth and expansion of digital transformation.  Rising internet availability and smart device adoption around the world, and increased reliance on data is a big factor for applications to be hosted on the cloud for round-the-clock access.

When the thought of having an application developed for a purpose or objective within the business operations comes to mind, the immediate point that comes to mind is to decide whether you want a Web Application or a mobile application.

Why Web Applications?

Web applications are different as they possess dynamism based on data and interface changes based on user levels, access, hierarchy, and functionality. Web applications run on browsers and can be mobile-friendly. They can be simple or complex with logic and computations. They can be accessed on multiple desktops/laptops or smartphones.

How Web Applications Are Developed?

Web applications are generally built coding on client-server technologies. Client-side coding involves technologies like HTML, JavaScript, and CSS and is dependent on the browser one uses.

Server-side technology is coded with languages such as Java, ASP.net with C#, PHP, python, etc. They usually depend on the kind of web server that exists on the server side. The interaction between a client and server happens via HTTPS protocol to receive, send, and store information using forms and web pages.

With our recent web application project, Eneblur Consulting is a premier Web Application Development company that has executed projects on PHP or LAMP stack. KBN Associates is into end-to-end construction and real estate consulting company involved in the planning to execution of construction projects of diverse scales.

The objective of the Workflow Web Application:

The problem our client was facing was with keeping track of his ongoing and completed project, their current status, which employee is engaged, and reasons behind bottlenecks with the execution of the individual workflow.

We provided him a solution to use a cloud-based web application to record and time employee activities with a project to derive exact status and whether tasks are on track or delayed by indicated color coding to give the management a bird’s eye view on what’s happening with current projects he has, with statistics, a summary of the entire business.

How the application was built?

We documented the functionalities required and derived a development skeleton on how the application will function, outlining different user levels and their screens. The application involved entities of the clients, projects, employees, departments, and tasks.

Each employee who belongs to a department will record the actions, including files required as supporting documents. The Admin or management will then be able to track where a particular project status is, who is working whether it’s on time or delayed etc.

The application is built using the .Net framework with C# programming language and SQL server as the backend database.  The project was completed within 1 month including testing and deployment.

What does our client say?

Mr. Shahnawaz Kathewadi, Director and Chief Engineer at KBN Associates, mentioned that the application helps his organization as it solves crucial bottlenecks for knowing the project status of multiple clients he has. The application provides in-client servicing as he can produce reports and progress for the client. The workers have embraced the application and regularly use it for their productivity enhancement.

Mr. Shahnawaz further says that the Eneblur Consulting team is highly recommended for their involvement and execution of the project as planned. They have also trained our staff on using the application, and their support has been immense. The team is flexible and has worked according to our needs.
