Netflix Movies 2020: Which One To Stream Amidst Coronavirus Lockdown

In the brave new world of coronavirus, you may be searching for something to see in your own house.

Over the last years, the streaming service created some tremendous original films from the animal rights Satire Okja to the Oscar-winning Roma and Noah Baumbach’s Love Story. Netflix has plenty of classic films on the list.

Movies To Stream Amidst Coronavirus Lockdown

#1. Spirited Away (2017)

Netflix has recently acquired the European distribution rights for the catalog of Studio Ghibli and has proven to be one of the most successful acquisitions in years. In Japan, Ghibli is almost mythological, and his sleek, excellent grain animations captivate a new global audience with the streaming service.

All directed by co-founder and lead producer Hayao Miyazaki has compassionate compassion and elegance. Still, the Spirited Away represents the Ghibli style with its simple pathos and the mystical combination of mythology, mysticism, and modernity. This follows a child whose parents are converted to pigs in a parallel universe to save her. The reference to Odyssey should not be forgotten; Miyazaki expertly draws the parallels between the Western and Eastern canons.

#2. The Wife (2018)

In this smooth adaptation of Meg Wolitzer’s 2003 book, Glenn Close gives a mesmeric turn on a woman in the shadow of her husband, earning the Nobel Prize, writer (Jonathan Pryce). She knows his deepest secret, but she may not be able to stay there forever. Max Irons plays his friend, an accused writer trapped in the shadow of his dad.

#3. The Great Gatsby (2013)

Baz Luhrmann lays on such a sensory brazenness film buffet that it takes a while to see the film is finger food and nothing more. The freshly minted millionaire, Leonardo DiCaprio, is Jay Gatsby, and the missing passion, Daisy Buchanan, is Carey Mulligan. Luhrmann gives them rarely room to play in the lively frenzy of his Jazz Age universe; they both do an excellent job.

#4. Shutter Island (2010)

Two U.S. marshals have been sent on a remote island to investigate the death of an asylum patient, one of whom, Teddy (Leonardo Dicaprio), discovers the horrific truth of the location. The psychological thriller of Martin Scorsese, based on the Dennis Lehane novel, is atmospheric and violent, but never sinks under the surface.

#5. The Irishman (2019)

The organized crime epic of Martin Scorsese tells the life story of union hitman Frank Sheeran (Robert De Niro). Joe Pesci is retired to play Gangland Supreme Russell Buffalino. Al Pacino’s success as union leader Jimmy Hoffa is a typical goofy. Through this lengthy yet fascinating tale of era, greed, and deceit, Scorsese incorporates the best elements of gangster films.
