“Scream 6” is an upcoming slasher Film which is directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett. This movie will be the Sixth installment in the Scream series. The first installment of the series, Scream, was released on December 12, 1996. “Scream 1” was directed by Wes Craven and was written by Kevin Williamson. The film starred Drew Barrymore, David Arquette, Neve Campbell, and Courteney Cox-Arquette as a group of friends who are being terrorized by a killer wearing a Ghostface mask who has taken on the disguise of fictional serial killer Ghostface. The film was followed by three sequels, “Scream 2” (1997), “Scream 3” (2000), and “Scream 4”  (2011).

What is Scream Franchise about?

Ghostface is the name of a fictional character and protagonist of the horror film series directed by Wes Craven and written by Kevin Williamson. The first film in the series was released on December 12, 1996. “Scream 1” was directed by Wes Craven and was written by Kevin Williamson. The film starred Drew Barrymore, David Arquette, Neve Campbell, and Courteney Cox-Arquette as a group of friends who are being terrorized by a killer wearing a Ghostface mask who has taken on the disguise of fictitious serial killer Ghostface. The response to the Scream series has been very positive; critics loved it so much that they gave it a positive review.  “Scream” is a 1990 American slasher film directed by Wes Craven and written by Kevin Williamson. The film stars David Arquette, Courteney Cox, Drew Barrymore, Timothy Olyphant, and Matthew Lillard. It was followed by four “Scream 2” (1997), “Scream 3” (2000), and “Scream 4”  (2011).  The film is an adaptation of the Slashers video game series. The game series was originally developed and published by Fortuna Entertainment, a Canadian video game developer that is currently defunct. The film was in development following the release of Scream Queens on Fox, which had flopped after just one season. Fox ordered a pilot for a horror series titled “Slasher” based on the Scream franchise in 2015, but it also failed to be picked up.

Is Sidney returning for “Scream 6”?

No, Sidney, the protagonist from the four previous films, is not returning for the upcoming film. This time, it will be completely different. Sidney will not be there to help the protagonist as she did in the previous films. The film will focus on the protagonist and a new female character, and he will have to fight Ghostface.
