What inspired the director to write the Driver series?

The series is inspired by the film “No Country for Old Men”. The two were first introduced to each other by a mutual friend. They began talking about the movie, and this is when Aaron, an avid film buff, told him about all the junk he had accumulated over his career in L.A. and about how as a kid he was always given money to go see movies by his parents when they went to San Francisco for their vacation. A lot of these memories and observations eventually inspired him to write the Driver series.

Who are the director’s favorite characters and why?

The favorite characters that Michael Manasseri likes in the show are the ones that have just joined the show. He says that he likes these characters because he has the chance to mold them and get them to fit into their roles on screen. He finds it interesting when an actor comes into a new show and all of a sudden has to learn everything about his character, including what his character likes and dislikes. The writers and/or producers were able to prepare the character with their preferences in mind, and this is where the actor can utilize his talent to fit into his character’s life.

What are the ratings of the Driver series?

The ratings of the second season of The Driver are quite high in comparison to the first episode, with an average viewership of 2.85 million people. This is an increase from the 733,000 people who watched the first episode. The renewal decision was made so that the producers can work on the series for a few more seasons.
