The Lightyear Series has been inspired by the story of a Russian woman by the name of Lidia Efimova. This story was first posted on Reddit in February 2013 and has been gaining a lot of attention these days. Adam Horowitz and Michael Green wanted to use this story as a novel but it ended up as a series instead. Many people believe that this series is related to the book A Bright Red sign.

The author’s own words have been used to describe this series as “a fantastical, terrifying vision of our future. Michael Green stated that he had transitioned from a novelist to a screenwriter. So he knows the challenges a screenwriter must face. He told the budding writers that they should read and also write but not to read as much as they write. The more you read, the more you will be inspired by other people’s success stories, and the less you will become someone successful yourself. He also told them to learn their craft. If you don’t know how to write then this craft cannot be learned in a few months or years.

Joseph Kosinski has been confirmed to direct one of the episodes in the series. Andrew Kosove, Broderick Johnson, Andrea Giannetti, and Trent Luckinbill have been confirmed to produce the series.
