A brief shot of Game of Throne Star Tom Wlaschiha was recently released for Stranger Things season 4. Netflix shocked viewers by dropping a trailer for their highly anticipated fourth season smash, which answered one of the most critical remaining questions at the end of the previous season: What has happened to Chief Hopper?

Jim Hopper Is Russian Prisoner

David Harbour’s Jim Hopper had been seen last to sacrifice his life to shut down the Upside-Down entrance. The character appeared dead and gone, but at the final moments of season 3 Stranger Things, a bleak Russian prison was revealed, where an “American” was kept under the watchful eyes of some soldier-types. The mid-credit scene showed that Hooper somehow traveled to Russia from Hawkins, Indiana. Well, the teaser trailer revealed how many people suspected Hooper to be alive, now a Russian prisoner.

Tom Wlaschiha

That isn’t the only thing hidden in the 50-second clip, as watchers have found the Throne Game star Tom Wlaschiha at 0:27 on YouTube. The introduction of Wlaschiha was confirmed by the official Twitter account of the shows room writers who invited the actor to the “Stranger Things family.”

While not much else is known of the role of Wlashiha in the series-from the name of his character to how many episodes he stars in-his appearance in the teaser seems to suggest that he plays a Russian soldier or perhaps a correctional officer. It is easy to imagine Wlaschiha being a German actor, best known for his role as Jaqen H’ghar in Game of Thrones, which influences the German accent in Stranger Things. He’s no stranger to tough people, but Jaqen was part of a group of religious killers called The Faceless Men in GoT.

Beyond Hawkins

Stranger Things had been initially presented as a 5-season anthology, but plans changed dramatically once the series became a cultural element. Instead of changing the cast from season to season, The Duffer Brothers decided to tell a story with the same characters. With the series growing, the cast is now reaching its fourth year, and it appears that the Duffer Brothers have time to expand the setting far beyond Hawkins. Therefore, new actors like Wlaschiha will enter the battlefield.
