The latest Material Theme Google, also called the Material Design 2.0, is a new rollout to apps and services including the Google Photos. The update has upgraded the app’s Android version to v4.0.0211496615 bringing in bright colors and icons with a vibrant look.

While the layout remains the same, the amount of white has increased in the updated version. The bottom of the home screen includes the boldly out-lined Material Theme icons for Photos, Albums, and Assistant and Sharing.
The update adds a swipe-up gesture to photos, which enables users to check information such as the EXIF data, the date, and location of photos, etc. The update is not available on most of the devices, and the users are still stuck on the 3.27.x version which was recently added to the Play Store. However, the latest version can be downloaded from APK Mirror.
