Twitter, in its series of Tweets, announced an update for the return of the reverse chronological feature. The social network has been a mess ever since it moved to the algorithmic timeline in which tweets are arranged in the chronological order. With the social network moving to what it was in the beginning, users will see the latest tweets first. The timelines of the users will now be populated by tweets solely from the accounts they follow.

Twitter Support in its recent tweet said that the network is working to provide users with an easily accessible way to switch between the most relevant tweets and the latest tweets in order to enable users to have more control over their timeline. To some, the algorithm-based timeline is comfortable while others prefer the reverse chronological timeline. So to favor both its users, Twitter has decided to let the users choose between the two types of timelines. This, they call the ‘Timeline Switch’ feature. However, the date for the feature’s roll-out has not yet been revealed.

The current ‘Show me the best Tweets first’ feature of the social network places the tweets as per the interest of the users. Disabling the feature will not have much change as the ‘In case you missed it’ section comprises the tweets even from people whom the users don’t follow, making their timeline mayhem.

So, the social media network has decided to change the order in which the tweets are arranged on the timeline. From now on, if the users disable the ‘Show me the best Tweets first’ feature, their timeline will receive the tweets in reverse chronological order only from people they follow. There is more chance for the Show me the best Tweets first’ feature to be removed.
