A trip of Google’s California offices as part of “Enter the world of Google’s Headquarters”

How would you describe someone who is my muse, my instructor, my explorer, my doctor, my translator, my scientist, my detective, my travel companion, my map reader, my consultant, my everything I need for survival?

Where is the Headquarters Of Google?

I despise saying it, but I couldn’t live without Google. In my daily life as a journalist, Google is indispensable. I’m not special, yet Google is the world’s largest library and a multifaceted worldwide network. I happened to go to Google’s headquarters offices in Mountain View, California. The corporate headquarters of Google and its parent company, Alphabet Inc., are located in the Googleplex. It is situated in Mountain View, California, at 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway.

I traveled to northern California because of a high school reunion that was hosted there. The schedule featured a bus excursion that was sponsored by a few high-tech businesses. However, it had no access to any of those businesses.

My former University of Washington classmate promised to assist me to make my trip more significant (and to share my experience with readers). I didn’t utilize my media credentials, and you could tell.

Western Asian Weekly?

Who?

A small paper lacks influence as a media organization. I also didn’t want to spend a lot of time vetting candidates. Its website said that no public tours are available. The grassy fields and its gift store are the only places with public access. Don’t waste time trying to find the shop

The trip

Your strongest suit is a pal who works for Google Headquarter. Ken, the son of a friend, works at YouTube, a division of the major. The beautiful and enormous campus of Google is stunning.

Driving from San Francisco to Mountain View, which is near San Jose, takes an hour and a half. When you get there, you notice Google Drive Street. There is signage everywhere in the four distinct Google colors: blue, green, yellow, and red. You can’t possibly see all the buildings in one day because it is so large and has at least 60 structures (I can’t check the number because Google doesn’t give that information).

Ken claimed that his colleague attempted to eat in a different Google cafeteria every day to visit every building in a month, but he was unable to meet his objective. This takes me to Google’s most admirable act of kindness.

Freebies

Yes, Google employees’ families are provided with complimentary lunches. No employee ever has to pay for breakfast, lunch, or dinner out of their pocket. Google, according to Ken, has a policy of offering food within a hundred feet. You cannot imagine how many benefits Google employees receive for free. Previously, the business offered free haircuts and dry cleaning on campus. There is a modest price now.

Google seems to be giving on the surface. I am a business owner, therefore I am aware of the overarching goal. Get rid of everything that can distract people from their work so that they can be productive. Hunger serves as a diversion. Finding decent cuisine requires time. Likewise, the cooking. Additionally, there aren’t many dining options nearby.

We took a stroll through the campus. Because there are no cars, it is pleasant to stroll through the area’s green, open space and enjoy the fresh air. In strategic spots, volleyball courts and fitness equipment have been constructed. Helmets and colorful bikes are free to use. You can play the piano or take a slide inside various structures if you want to have some fun.

The entire environment promotes enjoyment while working or offers tools depending on how you look at it, to unwind. Like all high-tech businesses, Google pays well, but the work is extremely demanding. If workers don’t put in more than 40 hours a week, I’d be astonished.

The Lunch

People had already begun to line up when we arrived at Building 43’s cafeteria before noon. The variety of the food, which naturally included Japanese, Chinese, Italian (pizza), American, and Indian cuisine, was astounding. SundarPichai, the CEO of Google, is Indian. The dish’s appearance was pleasing, and the components were excellent and fresh.

There were several different desserts on display, all of which looked delicious. There was a sea of diversity. Whites were outnumbered by people of color. Wow! The place was alive with vibrancy, youth, and enthusiasm. In their 20s and 30s, respectively.

There was a lot of Mandarin and a couple of different Indian dialects. There aren’t many Black people in this place, as my friend noted. Planning how to assist would be a worthwhile challenge for Google. Don’t only slam dunk; also do some math. I am aware that I would be accused of stereotyping. But I’m telling the truth. Why would it be bad to level the playing field?

Maps on Google

Finding the Asian Weekly’s office and the International District was enjoyable. You can experiment with Google Maps within the visitor center. But without a badge holder, you cannot enter.

Finding the Northwest Asian Weekly building on Maynard Avenue South and the entire map of downtown Seattle and the International District just takes a few minutes. The person who came before us was trying to find Chong Shan Road in a far-off Chinese city. He also located it. How much money did Google invest to connect the entire world to the internet?

When the main character in the true-life-based film “Lion” was only 5 years old, he used Google to locate his long-forgotten childhood home. I can only imagine the effort and ingenuity put out by numerous Google software engineers to collect and arrange this data. Now, everyone takes it for granted. What would happen if Google Maps were to disappear? What if Google decides to implement a usage fee?
