Andorra participates in the meeting of Education Ministers at the Council of Europe

The minister of Education, Ester Vilarrubla, participated, this Tuesday, in the meeting of Ministers of Education of the Council of Europe, in Paris. Throughout the day, among others, the proposals made by the French Presidency have been addressed, which includes the creation of Observatory for history teaching in Europe, and the importance of improving students competences in the use of communication technologies. In this regard, in one of her interventions, the Minister highlighted the work carried out by the Principality in the three educational systems in the area of communication technologies.

Vilarrubla has highlighted the support of Andorra for the work of the Council of Europe in the area of digital competencies and explained that “the Ministry will extend the training offer for students, teachers and parents.” In addition, it is also committed to continued education in this area for citizens throughout their lives. In her second speech, the Minister supported the proposal to create an Observatory for history teachings, which will allow sharing of good practices among the European countries and favour the establishment of a common story on the construction of Europe.

This type of transnational work, in addition, should contribute to enhancing the culture of peace.
