Under the new guidelines, hotels will be allowed to function from 6 am to 9pm. Parcel services will now be permitted till 10 pm.Moreover, film shootings can resume with 100 people.Flight services at Chennai airport to be increased from 50 to 100 from first of October.The ban on suburban electric train traffic will continue.However, theatres, amusement parks, swimming pools, beaches and other social gatherings will continue to remain shut.
Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu on Tuesday reported 5,589 new COVID-19 cases, taking the tally to 5,86,397, while the death toll mounted to 9,383 with 70 fatalities.

NCB SEEKS REJECTION OF RHEA’S BAIL APPLICATION AT BOMBAY HC:
Rhea Chakraborty’s earlier application for bail was rejected by a special NDPS court and she was remanded to 14-day judicial custody. NO NEED TO CARRY VEHICLE DOCUMENTS FROM OCT 1: MoRTH:
Accordingly, MoRTH has made amendments in Central Motor Vehicle Rules facilitating implementation of electronic enforcement, maintenance of vehicular documents through information technology portal with effect from October 1 for better monitoring and enforcement of MV Rules.
The Ministry said that the use of IT services and electronic monitoring will result in better enforcement of traffic rules and will lead to ending harassment of drivers. This was required after Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Act 2019 was passed and published on August 9, 2019, it said.

FEWER COVID CASES IN AP IS GOOD SIGN: CM JAGAN MOHAN
The Covid cases in Andhra Pradesh taking a down trend is a good sign, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said here on Tuesday.Reviewing the Covid prevention measures, he noted that the positivity rate had come down from 12 per cent to 8.3 per cent. While the number of tests had increased, the cases decreased, he observed.“Only in Andhra Pradesh, the Covid patients are treated free of cost in the country. There should be a periodical checkup for patients. We have recruited 30,000 personnel and their work should be monitored with regard to the utilisation of 37,000 beds in 240 hospitals, food, sanitation, infra and staff deployment,” he said.
