RHEA CHAKRABORTY WAS ARRESTED BY NCB:

Narcotics Control Bureau arrests Rhea Chakrabarty today under various sections of NDPS. She has been taken for a medical test shortly and is likely to be produced before a magistrate through video-conferencing for remand in the evening. Rhea, 28, had earlier denied consuming drugs. Her brother Showik Chakraborty was arrested last week in the case. The NCB is likely to file a plea before the court seeking that they need to keep all four in police remand for further questioning. Possibly she will be confronted with others in days to come and will be taken to places for recovery if any. Reportedly, to break cartel her custodial interrogation is needed. Rhea Chakraborty arrested under Section 8(c), 20(b), 27(a), 28 and 29 of NDPS Act. The actress has been arrested for purchase, possession and use of drugs.

FRESH BORDER FLARE UP BETWEEN INDIA AND CHINA ALONG LOC:

A new flare-up along the India-China border exacerbated tensions between the two neighbours on Tuesday, with the Indian army saying Chinese troops tried to close in around some of its positions along the un-demarcated border in Ladakh and fired shots into the air – a first in decades.

The fresh tensions sparked a new war of words between New Delhi and Beijing, straining bilateral ties which have been deteriorating since May after India detected intrusions by the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) at multiple locations along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Ladakh.

According to two people familiar with the developments, a face-off between Indian and 30- 40 Chinese troops has continued near the Rezang La Heights along the LAC.
