At IMediadesigns, when we talk about a team of developers, my concern is specifical with the graphic designers and web developers who are proficient in their work .But what makes them stand out from the other sorts of engineers. Being a part of the web development industry I had the opportunity to work with a range of individual with their skills over the years. And we are often challenged to find the talented and experienced programming staff. Learning to code is the first step towards becoming a Developer, but what are some of the characteristics associated with being a good developer? Let’s Explore!
Analytical Mindset
A programmer should have system –level thinking skills. Someone who put yourself in long hours when the situations demand it. He or she must have a passion for problem-solving.
Curiosity and Inquisitiveness
Technology is always changing, therefore as a programmer, you need to be updated on your technical skills. You must have knowledge about the latest trends.
When working on a project, able to understand the expectations and requirements of your client.You are willing to experiment, whether it’s with learning a new language or approaching a project or task in a new way.
Empathy
Keep in mind that product is ultimately for people only, so always take the user perspective approach.
It’s also important to be able to relate to both your client and your team.
Flexibility
The code can be unpredictable, you need to prepare yourself when it does not work,
You need to have the ability to switch contexts or the scope of the project unexpectedly.
Quickly adapt and resolve issues when they arise.
Love of Learning
Tech is a dynamic industry, it’s always growing, changing and evolving. As a part of this industry, you need to stay up to date with the new current and new technologies. Also, it’s very rare for a website design firm to have the budget and time to provide any kind of technical training to its programmers. A programmer must have mastered the skill of self-learning.
Team Player
As a developer, you will work with other designers, developers even the other teams such as marketing, support and sales team across your company or work directly with clients. So, you must be able to work well on a team.
