He claims that after flicking a cigarette butt onto the ground, he left the house, only to return and discover the damage. The man, who is currently in custody, denies the expert analysis and the presence of petrol on his shoes.
The prosecution believes there is sufficient evidence to confirm the guilt of the man, who has a history of previous criminal offenses. They are seeking a seven-year prison sentence. However, his defense lawyer, Me Laurent, pleads for probation and leniency, supporting his client’s version of events.
The judgment is scheduled for November 13.
