According to a reportBloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is planning to release new Mac models, potentially including a refreshed 24-inch iMac, at the end of this month. The current 24-inch iMac, which was launched in April 2021, is the only current-generation Mac that still uses the M1 chip.

Gurman also noted that Apple retail stores are experiencing shortages of the iMac, 13-Inch Macbook Pro, and 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro, with many configurations not expected to arrive until mid-November. This scarcity of stock is believed to be a sign that Apple is preparing to unveil new models of these machines.

While rumors suggest that next-generation MacBook Air models with M3 chips will not be released until early 2024, Gurman believes that Apple has made progress on the development of new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models. Although the current M2 Pro and M2 Max versions of these MacBook Pros were launched in January, an additional update this year would be unusual, but not impossible.

Gurman speculates that the Mac announcement event will take place on either Monday, October 30 or Tuesday, October 31.

This news comes alongside the anticipation for the release of iOS 17.1, which is expected to include new features and changes for iPhones related to Apple Music, AirDrop, Standby mode, and more. Additionally, a new button called “Capture” may be added to all iPhone 16 models, according to early pre-production information.

Apple has also released new firmware for the AirPods Pro 2, but the details of the update are unclear. The company continues to innovate, recently introducing its first foldable smartphone, the OnePlus Open. Furthermore, Apple plans to implement generative AI technology on the iPhone and iPad in late 2024, according to analyst Jeff Pu.

In other news, Apple is reportedly working on a larger iPad Air with a 12.9-inch display, marking the largest iPad Air model to date. The device is expected to feature an LCD display rather than the mini-LED technology used in the 12.9-inch iPad Pro. Customers can also look forward to the highly anticipated next-generation iPad Pro in 2024, which is expected to include various updates and improvements.
