Telia Estonia has reported a revenue of €266.5 million in the first nine months of this year, with an operating profit of €106.3 million. In line with its strategic priorities, the company has invested €32 million in the development of communications networks and services.

One of the key focuses for Telia Estonia has been the closure of its 3G network and the construction of its 5G network in mobile services. By the end of this year, the entire 3G network will be shut down, allowing resources to be redirected towards expanding the newer 4G and 5G networks.

The company has witnessed growth in its mobile subscriptions, which increased38,000 over the past year to reach 1.259 million at the end of the third quarter. Telia’s fixed internet subscribers stood at 274,000the end of the quarter, while the number of Telia TV customers reached 195,000.

Meanwhile, Tele2 Estonia recorded a turnover of €63.22 million in the first nine months of this year. The company allocated a majority of its €13 million investment towards the development of its 5G network to enhance service reliability and efficiency.

Elisa, another major telecommunications player in Estonia, reported a nine-month turnover of €165.3 million. In line with its strategic objectives, the company aims to expand 5G coverage and develop its fiber network.

Overall, the telecom industry in Estonia is witnessing investments in 5G network development, reflecting the growing demand for faster and more reliable connectivity. The closures of older networks, such as the 3G network, are allowing telecommunications companies to redirect resources towards newer technologies.
