A Man Strikes it Rich After a Meteor Crashes into His Home

In a remarkable turn of events, Josua Hutagalung, a resident of Kolang, Indonesia, became an instant millionaire when a Meteor crashed through his roof and landed in his home. While working outside, Hutagalung watched in awe as the space rock smashed through his veranda and embedded itself 15cm deep in the soil.

After experts examined the meteor, it was revealed that the space rock was an incredibly rare CM1/2 carbonaceous Chondrite. This type of meteor is estimated to be approximately 4.5 billion years old and weighed 2.1kg. Its value was estimated at a staggering £1.4 million.

Interestingly, three more fragments of the meteor were discovered nearby. One of the pieces was purchasedmeteorite expert Jared Collins from the United States. Collins received numerous offers to buy the meteorite but ultimately decided to work with scientists and collectors in the US during the Covid crisis.

The story of Hutagalung’s meteorite windfall became a global sensation, capturing the attention of people all around the world.
