Apple Shares Fall as Analysts Analyze iPhone 15 Sales Trends

Apple Inc. shares are experiencing their longest losing streak in nearly 21 months. The stock has declined for six consecutive sessions, with a 3.8% decrease over this period. Analysts are closely observing early sales trends of the iPhone 15 to gain insights into the company’s performance.

One analyst, David Vogt from UBS, has noted a decrease in demand for Pro-level iPhone models compared to the previous year. He based this observation on his analysis of wait times in different countries. In the United States, for example, the wait time for Pro phones has fallen from 27 days to 20 days compared to the same period last year. Vogt believes that despite upcoming catalysts for smartphone demand such as the holiday season and Singles’ Day in China, the growth potential for iPhones is limited due to the competitive landscape and the emergence of Huawei’s Mate60 in China.

On the other hand, Amit Daryanani from Evercore ISI has a more optimistic view. He analyzed Pro lead times and found stable trends in the United States, China, and Japan compared to the previous week. However, the lead times in the United Kingdom and Germany decreasedan average of seven to nine days. Daryanani believes that the data points to stable demand for the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models in most geographies, but there has been a significant contraction in lead times for lower-end models.

Investors are eagerly awaiting Apple’s September-quarter earnings report on November 2. This report may provide more information about the company’s performance and iPhone 15 uptake.
