“In last 4 years, development works worth Rs. 911.63 crores have been taken up in the state which include five projects worth Rs.389.34 crore under the central sponsored scheme and 173 projects worth Rs.522.29 crore under state plan,” said minister tourism, Krishnendra Kaur at a press conference on Wednesday.
Besides, to encourage private investment in the tourism sectors, more hotels and tourism units are being established in the private sector, the provisions related to investment were simplified by launch of the Rajasthan Tourism Unit Policy in June 2015. In last 4 years, 470 Tourism Unit projects have been approved by the Department with a proposed investment of approx. Rs. 5,565 crores, said the minister.
Speaking on the occasion N C Goel ACS tourism said, “to mention a few projects, under the Swadesh Darshan of ministry of tourism, GoI projects worth Rs. 91.45 crores sanctioned for the development of Govind Dev ji Mandir (Jaipur), Khatushyam ji (Sikar) and Nathdwara (Rajsamand) in Krishna circuit. Development work at the Savitri Mata Temple under the scheme was inaugurated by CM Vasundhara Raje on October 10, 2016. The construction of entrance plaza at the Brahma Temple in Pushkar at an estimated cost of Rs. 2406.52 lakhs is in progress. The state government’s contribution to the same is Rs. 754.63 lakh.”
The state government asserts that effective marketing campaign has lead to increased tourism in the state. “Department has engaged specialist agencies in its promotional initiatives. The result of these efforts of the State Government is visible in significant increase in tourist arrival in last two years,”said Goel.
