Jaipur: Shallow to moderate fog continued to affect the air, road and rail traffic across the state on Sunday. Mercury also continued to take a dip that forced people to take out their woollens and blankets. Sriganganagar remained coldest in the state where a Minimum Temperature of 7.8 Degrees Celsius was recorded, the Met reports said.

Attributing the continued fog to the active western disturbances Jaipur Met Office said that similar conditions will prevail in the state in the next couple of days.

Jaipurites woke up to a foggy and chilly morning which affected air, road and rail traffic. The traffic on the highways connecting Jaipur to Delhi, Jaipur to Agra and Jaipur to Ajmer was chaotic due to poor visibility. On the other hand at least half-a-dozen early morning trains arrived late due to the foggy conditions also prevailed in neighbouring Haryana and in Delhi.

Passengers who went to the Jaipur airport to catch their early morning flights were also upset with the delays as at least 4 early morning flights got delayed due to the poor visibility and fog. A minimum temperature of 15 degrees Celsius was recorded in the morning. Even in the afternoon there was no respite as a maximum temperature of 25.8, almost 3 degrees below the normal notch was recorded.

Sriganganagar was followed by Churu where a minimum temperature of 8.1 degrees Celsius, Pilani 10.1, Jaisalmer 11.3, Bikaner 10.2, Barmer 14, Udaipur 14.6, Kota 15.3, Jodhpur 15.5 and a minimum temperature of 15.6 degrees Celsius was recorded in Ajmer.

In its forecast Jaipur Met office said that foggy conditions will prevail in the state and mercury will continue to take a dip in the next 24 hours.
