Currently studying at the most sought-after computer science branch in IIT-Bombay, Veerwal termed the record as ‘past achievement’.
“I want to focus on my present and future. My latest achievement is related to my past success. The acknowledgement by Limca Book of Records is good and has motivated me to repeat the same success in all my exams,” said Veerwal over phone from Mumbai. He came to know about the record through media channels.
Soon after the JEE-Mains results in May, the Limca Book of Records team contacted him and asked him to fill a form. Veerwal filled the form and forgot it as his focus was on JEE-Advanced scheduled in June. “Records are meant to be broken. I would like to see my record broken in the coming years,” said Veerwal.
He scored 109 All India Rank in JEE-Advanced which disappointed him but his dream of pursuing computer science from IIT-Mumbai was fulfilled.
Since August 19, he has been giving interviews about his record win.
He had also topped the NTSE exam in 2014 (Rajasthan) and won a scholarship under Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY). Besides, he also qualified for astronomy olympiad. He represented his school at the national-level competition of Atal Tinkering Labs held by Niti Aayog in 2016.
His father Pushpendra Veerwal is a nurse at Maharana Bhupal Government Hospital while his mother Pushpa is a government school teacher. Veerwal credits his success to his parents for giving him a strong support system.
