Google Pixel 9 series may have this iPhone Emergency feature

Google plans to launch its next-generation Pixel smartphone in October. Apparently the next smartphone will come with an improved modem and bring important improvements such as satellite connectivity. With the modem upgrade, the tech giant may be planning to add a feature similar to Apple’s Emergency SOS to the upcoming Pixel 9 and Pixel Fold.

According to a report from Android Authority, Google may initially work with T-Mobile to offer emergency features on future smartphone models. The report also claims that the company may add more providers in the future.

The report also provides insight into the animation Google will show users to point their phones to satellites. The report says that Google’s SOS feature, similar to the iPhone system, will offer a series of questions for Pixel owners in the coming days to learn more about the device.

  • What happened?
  • [Are you/Are they/Is everyone] breathing?
  • In total, how many people are [missing/trapped]?
  • What best describes your situation?
  • What is on fire?
  • Are there weapons involved?
  • What type of vehicle or vessel?
  • Do any of these apply?

Satellite-Based Emergency SOS on Android: What to Expect

Garmin, the company behind Google, has claimed in a post on the social media platform that it will make this feature available to Google.
