iPhone 16 Pro launch: 4 camera features that could be included in Apple’s 2024 ‘Pro’ model

Apple plans to launch the Iphone 16 series of smartphones in September, but leaks and rumors are already doing the rounds.

Following last year’s design changes to the iPhone 15 Pro model, the focus this year is expected to be on Camera upgrades. This essentially means that there will be several improvements to the user’s photography and videography experience. Here are four major upgrades that could come to the iPhone 16 Pro later this year.

iPhone 16 Pro may have an improved main camera

The iPhone 16 Pro is rumored to feature Sony’s improved main camera sensor, which is said to improve low-light performance. This sensor lets in more light and ultimately produces sharper photos with less noise. However, it is unclear whether this next-generation sensor will be exclusive to the iPhone 16 Pro Max or will be available on both Pro models.

iPhone 16 Pro may have an improved ultra-wide camera

The leaked information suggests a significant improvement in the cameras of the iPhone 16 Pro series, especially the ultra-wide camera. This phone is likely to come with a 48-megapixel ultra-wide camera. This is a significant upgrade over the current 12-megapixel version of the iPhone 15 Pro. This change can improve performance in various shooting conditions, especially in low light, more detailed photos and more flexibility in editing and post-processing.

iPhone 16 Pro’s camera is expected to have optical zoom

Smartphone cameras are becoming more and more sophisticated. Apple will apparently expand its improved tetraprism camera design, currently only available on the iPhone 15 Pro Max, to the smaller iPhone 16 Pro. This improvement enables an optical zoom of at least 5x and a digital zoom of 25x on both models.

Additionally, rumors suggest that the iPhone 16 Pro Max may come with a “periscope and ultra-long telephoto lens combination” for better optical zoom capabilities.

How to deal with lens flare in the iPhone 16 Pro camera

One of the most common problems faced by iPhone camera users is lens flare, which results in distorted photos when shooting in bright lighting conditions. Apple is reportedly testing a new anti-reflective coating technology called Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) on the iPhone 16 Pro’s camera lens to address this issue. By implementing this coating, the effects of internal reflections can be minimized.
