AI chatbots are slowly but surely making their way into every app we use, the latest being Whatsapp. Meta is currently testing the addition of a Meta AI chatbot to its messaging service, which is currently in development with the latest version of the app for iOS and Android. Currently, this test is only available for those whose WhatsApp language is English.
However, this is a limited trial, which means that not everyone who is eligible can see the Meta AI chatbot on WhatsApp. So far, it has spread in some countries, including India, but only in a limited number of people. This will certainly change in the future.
Some have Meta AI built into the search bar, while others have a new Meta AI icon next to the top-right camera button and a new talk button.
Meta AI works just like other chatbots and lets you ask about different things. If you click on the AI-powered search meta bar, you’ll get randomly generated suggestions of what to ask, but of course you can use any suggestions you like.
It will be interesting to see if WhatsApp can go further and integrate a chatbot into its conversations. For now, it doesn’t go that far and limits activation to the search bar.
