Holi Dahan Mahotsav celebrated with great enthusiasm in the City Palace Udaipur premises

Udaipur : Dr. Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar, a member of the former Mewar Royal Family, performed the Holika Dahan with traditional rituals, following the age-old traditions of the festival. The Holika festival holds special significance in the traditions of the Mewar royal family. On this occasion, the City Palace premises were decorated with lights and colorful flowers.

Maharaj Kumar Sahib Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar arrived at the Manak Chowk of the City Palace in traditional Sanatani attire with the paraphernalia.

At the Holika Dahan site, the priest performed a tilak ceremony for Maharaj Kumar Sahib with the chanting of mantras by the members of the Dharmasabha. According to the Mewar tradition, Mewar offered prayers to Holika by offering her a veil, flower garlands, and Sriphal. The Maharaj Kumar, along with the members of the royal family, circumambulated the Holika and lit it.

After the Holika Dahan, Maharaj Kumar honored the sadhus and mahants who had come from various temples and monasteries of Mewar by offering them garlands and Sriphal. In the same tradition, the sadhus and mahants offered blessings of happiness and prosperity to the Maharaj Kumar along with Aska. In the Manak Chowk, dance artists performed the traditional Gair dance of Holi.
