Google Pixel 8a is expected to be unveiled at the annual I/O developer conference in May. We’ve already seen renders of the successor to the Pixel 7a, and now more details about the device have surfaced online. The Pixel 8a is said to have a higher refresh rate than the older model. It’s powered by the Tensor G3 chipset, which is the same as the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. The Pixel 8a is expected to support wireless charging and DisplayPort output.

Android Authority, citing an inside source, claims that Google will improve the Pixel 8a over the Pixel 7a. The upcoming model will reportedly feature a 6.1-inch Full HD+ (1080 x 2400 pixels) OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1400 nits peak HDR brightness, matching the equivalent specs of the high-end Pixel 8. A 120Hz refresh rate would be a significant improvement over the Pixel 7a’s 90Hz screen.

According to the report, the Pixel 8a will be powered by the same Tensor G3 chipset as the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. The chipset may be slightly different from the Pixel 8 version. The regular G3 uses FOPLP (fan-out panel-level packaging), while the G3 Pixel 8a uses IPoP (integrated package-in-package).

The Pixel 8a will reportedly retain the same camera setup as the Pixel 7a: a 64-megapixel main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), along with a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle secondary sensor and a 13-megapixel front-facing camera. camera. in front of the camera. It also supports DisplayPort output.

Google is said to make the new phone available in many countries this time. The Pixel 7a is currently available in 21 countries, including India, while the official launch of the Pixel 8a is expected in other countries, including the Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, Hungary, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia.
