PIMS successfully treats premature baby

Udaipur: Doctors at Pacific Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), Umerda have successfully treated a Baby born at 26 weeks. The treatment was carried out under the leadership of neonatologist Dr. Ankitkumar Panchal.

PIMS Chairman Ashish Agarwal said that the baby was born at 26 weeks, or 6 months, and weighed 900 grams. The baby had respiratory problems, underdeveloped lungs, and difficulty digesting milk. Due to being born prematurely, the baby was admitted to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

After 70 days in the NICU, the baby was discharged. The team involved in the treatment included Dr. Vivek Parasar, Dr. Rahul Khatri, Dr. Shrey Agarwal, Dr. Shubhajit, Dr. Amit, Dr. Vaishali, Dr. Neha, Dr. Poojan, Dr. Vishal, Dr. Shivani, Nursing Incharge Reshma, and nursing staff Shivkumar, Amit, Rahul, and Deepak.

Mr. Agarwal said that the baby is now healthy and was treated free of charge under the Chiranjeevi Yojana.
