Hades, the acclaimed roguelike from Supergiant Games, is coming to iOS on March 19 as part of Netflix Games. The streaming giant announced the release date on Apple’s mobile platform on Tuesday and pre-registration for the action title is now open. Hades first released in 2020 on Nintendo Switch, PC and Mac and a year later on PlayStation and Xbox platforms. All Netflix subscribers can access the game for free on their iOS devices.

Netflix confirmed the iOS release date for Hades on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday and released a trailer confirming the game’s pre-registration. While all Netflix Gaming titles are traditionally released on iOS and Android mobile platforms, Hades will only be added to the Netflix gaming library on iOS. Developer Supergiant has no plans to port it to Android.
Hades was first confirmed as part of Netflix Games last November, alongside indie darlings Braid and Death’s Door on mobile. Rogue Dungeon Crawler puts players in the shoes of Zagreus, the mischievous son of Hades, King of the Underworld, who escapes Hell and makes his way to Olympus. In several passages, players discover the stories and secrets of the inhabitants of the underworld.
Hades received critical acclaim and was nominated for Game of the Year at the 2020 Game Awards, ultimately winning Best Action Game and Best Indie Game.
Supergiant is currently working on a sequel and it was announced that Hades II will be revealed at The Game Awards 2022. While there’s no set release date yet, Supergiant announced late last year that Hades II would launch in Early Access on Steam in the second quarter of 2024. Epic game store.
Netflix Games has more than 80 games in its library, all free for mobile subscribers, but is also adding major titles to the lineup of smaller indie games already available on the platform.
