Udaipur Municipal Corporation Seals 41 Shops at Delhi Gate

Udaipur : The Udaipur Municipal Corporation today sealed 41 shops at the city’s main Delhi Gate Intersection for unauthorized construction. The shopkeepers had been served notices earlier, but they failed to provide a satisfactory response, prompting the corporation to take action today.

The municipal corporation team arrived at the scene around 6 am and began sealing the 41 shops one by one. The team posted notices outside all of the shops stating that they had been sealed.

Some shopkeepers arrived after receiving information about the action, and passersby also stopped to watch the proceedings. The municipal corporation was accompanied by home guards and police personnel. The shops are located near Delhi Gate intersection and Banswali Gali.

On February 7, Municipal Commissioner Ram Prakash had written a letter to the shopkeepers asking them to submit documents for construction approval and land use conversion. However, no satisfactory response was received, prompting today’s action.

These shops at Delhi Gate intersection have been carrying out commercial activities for a long time. The corporation took action against these shops amid its ongoing encroachment removal campaign and UD tax collection drive. Municipal revenue officer Nitesh Bhatnagar, RI Vijay Jain, CI Mangilal Dangi, and others were present along with corporation security personnel and police force.
