IED blast claims ITBP ASI in Chhattisgarh

Narayanpur (Chhattisgarh), Mar 14 : An assistant sub-inspector of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police’s 53rd Battalion was martyred and a Constable injured in a Naxal IED explosion on Monday near Dhondhri Beda in Sonpur Police Station limits within this district of Left-wing extremism-affected Bastar division. “The Itbp detachment had set out for providing security cover to road-laying work. ASI Rajendra Singh succumbed at the District Hospital where Head Constable Mahesh is undergoing treatment. Superintendent of Police Sadanand Kumar led a force to the scene. A search operation is underway in the surrounding areas,” Inspector General Sundarraj Pattilingam confirmed. XC-AC
