Spotlight on high-profile voters in 3rd phase of elections

Before going to Cast his vote, Prime Minister Modi sought his mother Hiraben's blessings at her residence. Prime Minister's mother put a tilak on his forehead and gifted him a red duppata as a blessing even as they shared sweets and some quality time together.

Prime Minister then headed out to vote at a polling booth in Nishan Higher Secondary School in Ranip in Ahmedabad in an open jeep.

Ahead of PM's arrival, BJP President Amit Shah and his family had reached the polling station to receive the Prime Minister.

Prime Minister shared some fun-filled interacted with Amit Shah's grand daughter and flashed the victory sign.

After casting his vote, Prime Minister said, he was fortunate to be part of the democratic exercise.

BJP President Amit Shah also cast his vote in Naranpura area of Ahmedabad as did veteran BJP leader LK Advani and senior BJP leader Arun Jaitley.

Another BJP heavyweight who voted in phase three was Dharmendra Pradhan who queued up at a polling booth in Talcher in Odisha.

Prakash Javadekar cast his vote in Pune, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi in Rampur and Goa CM Pramod Swant in Panaji.

Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and his wife cast their votes in Rajkot.

Alongwith his family members, Chhattisgarh Chief Minsiter Bhupesh Baghel voted in Patan assembly segment of Durg Lok Sabha seat.

Odisha Chief Minster Naveen Patnaik exercised his franchise in Bhubaneswar in Odisha and Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan in Kannur, in Kerala.

IN UP, SP President Akhilesh Yadav voted with his family in Saifai and his estranged uncle and Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party leader Shivpal Yadav exercised his franchise in Firozabad, from where he is also in the fray.

In Bihar, Sharad Yadav and Pappu Yadav who are challenging each other on Madhepura Lok Sabha seat cast their ballots.
 
NCP leader Supriya Sule cast her vote in Baramati from where she has been fielded again by the NCP.

Karnataka's former CM and BJP Karnataka President BS Yeddyurappa voted in Shimoga. from where his son is in the fray even as Congress' Mallikarjun Kharge voted in Gulbarga from where he has been fielded again by the Congress.

In West Bengal, Congress leader Abhijit Mukherjee cast his ballot in Jangipur from where he is in the fray once again.

Those from the film fraternity were part of the dance of democracy too Malyalam film actor Mohanlal cast his vote in Thiruvananthpuram and Mammootty in Kochi in Kerala.

The festival of democracy thus saw vibrant participation across people from all walks of life.
