Safe breakers rob cash from Chittorgarh toll plaza

Udaipur : Unidentified men broke open the Cash window at a Toll Plaza on the Chittorgarh-Bhilwara road and decamped with 6.25Lakh rupees on tuesday midnight. Surprisingly, a gunman was sitting outside the cash sorting room while the robbers cut opened the window with the help of a gas cutter and fled with the money. A report has been given at the Gangrar police station and an investigation has begun.

Gangrar SHO Mangilal Bhishnoi said that the incident took place at Jonjharon-ka-Kheda Toll plaza past midnight. The toll plaza employees came to know about the robbery when they required money to be given as change at the counters. When they tried to open the cash room, they found it latched from inside. They went at the backside to look through the window and were shocked to see the glass broken. The rods were cut and the cash box was empty. Later after counting it was known that the robbers had taken away 6 Lakh 24 thousand 500 rupees.

Police has sought CCTV images from the toll plaza and some people are being questioned, sources said. Cops didnt rule out the possibility of some insider having involvement in the theft. Toll employees also found a gas cutter from a nearby nallah which perhaps the robbers had used to cut the cash box. Police said there was another big locker inside the room which contained a huge amount but the robbers didnt attempt to break it.
