Samsung Unveils the Galaxy Book 2 to Rival Microsoft’s Surface Pro

Samsung is today announcing a second-generation refresh for its Galaxy Book PC series. The new Galaxy Book 2 unapologetically resembles Microsoft’s Surface Pro but with one big difference — it’s running on Qualcomm’s always-on Snapdragon 850 chipset which promises to deliver a multi-workday battery life and Gigabit LTE.

The Samsung Galaxy Book 2 is a two-in-one and has a detachable screen with a flexible kickstand slapped at its rear. It’s a 12-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2160×1440. Out of the box, the Galaxy Book 2 runs the stripped down S version of Windows 10 but you can upgrade to the complete experience without any extra charges. In addition to the Snapdragon processor, the convertible has 4GB of RAM, 128GB of onboard storage, 20 hours of battery life, and AKG-tuned speakers.

The Galaxy Book 2 also offers a healthy port selection which includes two USB Type-C, a MicroSD card slot, and a standard headphone jack. Samsung is kind enough to bundle both the keyboard and the S-Pen stylus in the box. Therefore, the $1000 price is all you will have to pay. It goes on sale November 2nd in the United States. US carriers including Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint will be selling it with LTE plans.
