After hinting at a “Flagship Dual Camera” in its invite Xiaomi has launched the Mi A1 in India. Priced at Rs 14,999, the Xiaomi Mi A1 is sure to ruffle some feathers. The best part, however, is that Xiaomi has for the first time has decided to go stock Android. Yes, the Android One is finally making its comeback after a rather long hiatus. The Xiaomi Mi A1 will be available in Black, Gold, and Rose Gold variants.

The Xiaomi Mi A1 comes equipped with a 5.5-inch FHD display with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass and is powered by the Snapdragon 625 processor clocked at 2.0GHz and paired with 4GB of RAM. On the storage front, the phone offers 64GB of internal storage along with an expandable microSD card slot. As mentioned earlier the Mi A1 runs on Android One and it’s still not clear if one would be able to flash it with a MIUI ROM.

While we didn’t get to see dual lens camera setup of Xiaomi smartphones until recently the company seems to be making up for the lost time. The Xiaomi Mi A1 sports a dual rear camera setup consisting of the 12-Megapixel wide-angle lens+12-Megapixel telephoto lens. Other features include 2x optical zoom, portrait mode, beautify 3.0 and unlimited high-quality storage on Google Photos. Xiaomi claims that the image quality is not compromised while shooting with up to 2x optical zoom. The Xiaomi Mi A1 offers 10x of Digital zoom.

The Xiaomi Mi A1 comes dressed in a metal body and the fingerprint sensor is placed at the back. The antenna bands have been moved to the periphery of the phone and the bezels have been thinned out. As far as audio is concerned Xiaomi has baked in a Dedicated Headphone Amplifier along with a power amplifier that channels the deeper lows and higher volume through the speaker. The connectivity options on the Xiaomi Mi A1 include 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11, Bluetooth and GPS.

Xiaomi Mi A1 will be available starting from September 12th in India on Mi.com, Flipkart, Mi Home stores and Mi preferred partners.
