Hyundai has officially unveiled the i20 hatchback in a new body with several photos of the Model, while the car will be seen live at the March 2020 Geneva Motor Show.

The new third generation Hyundai i20 2021 is made in the new Sensuous Sportiness style. The front of the model is characterized by the presence of a wide frameless radiator grille with a large-mesh pattern and slanting headlights with LED “eyebrows” DRL adjacent to it.

The five-door boasts a two-tone body with black pillars and a roof, while its profile is notable for catchy stampings on the sidewalls and a swift glazing line. The hatchback lights have a bizarre shape and go far into the rear fenders, plus they are united by a luminous strip.

Inside, the Hyundai ai 20 2021 received a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a multimedia system display. However, the latter are allowed only for the older versions, while the basic versions are content with the 8.0-inch screen of the entertainment complex.

In addition, the car has acquired ventilation deflectors for the entire width of the front panel, ambient lighting and dot contrast inserts. The manufacturer reports that the hatchback interior has become more comfortable by increasing the free space available to passengers.

It is known that for a surcharge for the new i20 III model they will offer Bose audio system with eight speakers, wireless charging for a smartphone, support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto interfaces, as well as cruise control, which is guided by the readings of the navigation system.

Compared to its predecessor, the overall length of the 2020 Hyundai i20 has increased to 4,040 mm (+ 5), and the wheelbase to 2,580 mm (+ 10). The Korean hatchback in the new body has become 30 mm wider (1,764) and 24 mm lower (1,450). The volume of the trunk is now 351 liters (+ 25).

With the change in generation, the car lost a 1.4-liter naturally aspirated engine with a capacity of 100 hp, which means that the line of power units now consists of only two motors. The base of the five-door has a 1.2-liter “four”, which works with a five-speed manual, developing 84 hp.

The car can also be ordered with a 1.0-liter T-GDi turbo engine, and it can work both with the old 7-band robot with two clutches, and with the new 6-speed mechanics, which can independently open the clutch if the gas pedal is pressed. and the car is coasting. According to the developers, such a manual transmission is able to slightly minimize fuel consumption.

The turbo engine itself is available in two variants of forcing – for 100 and 120 “horses”, and an optional 48-volt hybrid superstructure is offered for the initial version, while cars with a more powerful version are equipped with it by default.

In addition to all of the above, the novelty boasts a wide range of electronic assistants. In particular, the model can be equipped with automatic braking with pedestrian recognition, monitoring of “blind” zones, a system for keeping the car in the lane, etc.

When exactly Hyundai ai 20 will appear on sale in the European market and how much it will cost is still unknown. However, there is no need to wait for the five-door in Russia – we are not planning to deliver it to us.
