In the summer of the twentieth year, the premiere of the updated fifth-generation Lexus LS 2021 sedan took place in Japan, which received a slightly revised appearance. During the restyling, the developers corrected the shape of the air intakes in the front bumper, and also simplified the design of the headlights, abandoning the fancy zigzags.

Interestingly, the diode head optics of the new Lexus LS 2021 model now have an advanced BladeScan AHS adaptive control system. It uses two rotating mirrors, which allows for higher speed and accuracy of light beam adaptation. This technology was first tested on the RX crossover.

At the rear of the four-door, the Japanese abandoned the chrome inserts in the taillights in favor of matte ones, which visually merge with the red diffusers. Plus, the sirloin of the car received a slightly different decor, and the color palette was expanded with a new gray shade “Gin-ei Luster”, which is characterized by a special play of shadows.

The hybrid Lexus LS 500h differs from the standard by the presence of additional air intakes in the front fenders, and the sporty F Sport – by a more aggressive front bumper and a different pattern of the radiator grille. A touchscreen display of the multimedia system appeared in the car interior, but the diagonal of the monitor remained the same (12.3 inches), but from now on it is not built into the front panel, but is made in the form of a separately located tablet.

You can control multimedia both from the touchscreen and from a special touchpad on the central tunnel. Among the interesting options, it is worth noting it is possible to order a salon mirror with a screen to which the picture from the rear camera is broadcast.

Plus, during the restyling, the Japanese tried to further improve the Comfort of the interior. To do this, they used a new seat filler, and also made the stitching on the latter less intrusive. Also, attention was paid to the issue of sound insulation. In particular, the sedan has acquired revised settings for the active noise cancellation system.

The powertrain lineup of the new Lexus LS has not changed. Presented in some markets (including Russia), the younger version of the LS 350 is still equipped with a 3.5-liter atmospheric “six” with a capacity of 316 hp, and the LS 500 modification comes with a 3.4-liter V6 with two turbines (422 hp). Hybrid LS 500h put a 3.5-liter aspirated and an electric motor, which in total give out 359 “horses”.

But the transmission control program has undergone changes, which now tries to use higher gears more often and not to spin the engine once again to ensure acoustic comfort, and even more actively uses electric traction in a hybrid. To improve ride comfort, engineers changed the engine mounts, and re-calibrated shock absorbers with new valves and other stabilizers were installed in the suspension.

Another feature of the restyled version of the Lexus LS is the electronic complex “Lexus Teammate” instead of the usual Safety System +. It boasts advanced functionality and, in fact, is an adaptive cruise control with a car lane hold function and a danger warning system. So far, this complex will receive exclusively cars for the home market, and after running in it will begin to be installed on imported sedans.

The start of sales of the updated Lexus LS in Japan fell on the fall of the twentieth, and the first restyled sedans reached Russia only in the spring of 2021. The model offers six complete sets, prices vary from 7,147,000 to 11,293,000 rubles.
