The Ferrari 612 Scaglietti is a two-door coupe with a 2 + 2 seating arrangement, with a front center engine mounted behind the front axle and rear-wheel drive (FMR layout), belonging to the GTB (Gran Turismo Berlinetta) class, the distinctive feature of which is a long bonnet and a smooth sloping roof.

The design of the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti is inspired by the 1954 Ferrari 375 MM. The great Roberto Rossellini ordered one of these cars for his wife, the Hollywood superstar Ingrid Bergman. The low center of gravity and excellent weight distribution (46% to the front axle and 54% to the rear) resulted in the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti having excellent roadholding and good driving dynamics.

For the first time, a dynamic stability control system (ESP or CST) and an automatic slip control system (Traction Control) were used on a Ferrari.

In 2006, the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti MY06 received a new radio / CD with navigation support, an MP3 player, Bluetooth and a compact CF card reader (compact flash) allowing the user to store and play up to 4 GB of music. The system is integrated with a new display in the center console. Rear parking sensors were also offered as standard.

In 2007, in honor of its 60th anniversary, Ferrari released 60 copies of the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti-Sessanta. The limited edition of these cars differed from the base model with new alloy wheels and tires in size 245/45 ZR18 and rear 285 / 40ZR19 (the same as the base model), chrome exhaust pipes, original false radiator grille and glass roof. Nine exclusive cars from this series were intended for Russia.
