Bought it from the showroom. Car in 2020, with 200 km mileage. Today I drove another 700 km, while the flight is normal. It goes harder than Solaris, but acceleration, if you press on the gas, is excellent. However, now they began to overtake me often, because I no longer want to drive in a large car, and even with a CVT.

The variator works fine, though this is my first variator in my life. Doesn’t jerk, but you need to get under way by gasping, which sometimes leads to slipping: it’s a pity for the thorns, you need to retrain from a conventional machine. The electric handbrake is frankly infuriating, it turns on with or without reason.

The seat must be adjusted right under you. Of the obvious inconveniences: a high armrest (I just can’t fit my hand comfortably), the wipers are heavily driven under the hood (it is possible to lift and beat off the ice only if the engine is turned off at the moment when the brushes are in an upright position), the blowing of the legs blows into the lower leg area, and the feet freeze … The car itself takes longer to warm up than my old Kia Rio.

The engine loves to devour, that’s for sure. He eats a lot in the city, reaching 12 liters. Much better on the highway. When I went along the Chelyabinsk-Kazan route and back, the onboard computer showed a flow rate of 6.0 to 6.4 liters.

Jak Ji 7 2021 is built on the basis of a front-wheel drive platform with a monocoque body, in the design of which high-strength steels are widely used. The suspension of the Chinese liftback is completely independent: the usual MacPherson struts are installed on the front of the car, and a multi-link design is used at the back.

In Russia, the new Jak J7 model is offered with an uncontested 1.5-liter turbo engine with 136 hp. (200 Nm), which can work with both a six-speed manual and a variator. Unfortunately, the Chinese do not advertise the acceleration time from zero to hundreds, although the maximum speed of the car is known – 170 km / h.

The JAC J7 2021 does not shine with outstanding feedback, but in general the liftback is controlled well, responding adequately to the steering wheel even on a winter road. The stabilization system is configured correctly, due to which the car takes turns confidently, but not without excitement. The suspension is quite energy-intensive, but it is still worth slowing down in front of large holes.

For city use, a 136-horsepower turbo engine is enough “for the eyes”, but on the highway, overtaking the five-door is not as good as we would like. There are no questions about the operation of the variator, however, the option on the mechanics is perceived as a little more dynamic.

At first glance, the front seats in the new Jak Ji 7 have a well thought-out profile, but not everyone can comfortably fit in them. The reason for this is the short and almost flat cushion, which gives the feeling that the legs lack support.

The second row of the liftback has a sufficient supply of free legroom, and there is almost no central tunnel here. But the ceiling is still low, which makes it uncomfortable for tall passengers (from 180 cm or more).

But the trunk in the JAC J7 is one of the most spacious in the class. For a budget model, the compartment is well finished, but of the convenience there is only one light bulb and a small pocket with a flimsy-looking mesh.
