The first prototype of the “charged” Nissan Skyline GT-R sedan was presented to the public in 1968, at the same time the legendary Italdesign atelier was formed. In the eighteenth year, the two companies decided to join forces and celebrate the 50th anniversary with the release of a unique show car Nissan GT-R50.
The modification is built on the basis of a serial Coupe in the top-end version of the Nismo, and the appearance of the special version was developed by Italian specialists in conjunction with the British and American design studios of Nissan, although Italdesign took over the construction of the car directly.

Nissan GT-R50 is quite different from the original version of the model. The roof of such a two-door is lower by 54 mm, while the total height of the coupe reaches 1,316 mm. All body panels of the modification were replaced with new ones, after which the length of the car increased to 4,884 mm (+ 94), and the width – up to 1,992 mm (+ 97).
The lighting technology on the model is completely new, while the designers decided to visually separate the taillights from the body. Plus, a retractable wing with an adjustable angle of attack appeared at the stern, and special 21-inch wheels are “shod” in Michelin Pilot Super Sport racing tires.
The interior has also undergone numerous changes. The seats in the GT-R50 are covered in leather and suede, and the only thing inside that reminds of a serial sports car is the characteristic groove of the transmission selector.
There is no separate screen of the multimedia system in the car: the developers decided to assign its functions to a digital device. In addition, the supercar was equipped with a steering wheel with a carbon fiber hub and spokes.

On the technical side, the 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 engine has been heavily redesigned. The engine received enlarged turbochargers and intercoolers, as well as a reinforced crankshaft, bearings, pistons and connecting rods.
Additionally, a camshaft with a different cam profile and oil nozzles for lubricating the piston group were installed, the ignition, intake and exhaust systems were also revised. Such numerous changes allowed to increase the output from 600 hp. and 637 Nm to 720 forces and 780 Nm of torque.
The modified engine works in conjunction with a reinforced robotic gearbox, but the dynamic characteristics of the coupe are not named. Other features include the electronically controlled Bilstein DampTronic I shock absorbers.
The public demonstration of the pre-production Nissan GT-R50 took place at the end of July two thousand and eighteenth, and based on positive feedback, Italdesign specialists decided to release fifty copies of the model, and all of them will be individualized according to the wishes of customers, so there will not be two identical cars in circulation.
The serial version of the coupe will be presented at the Geneva Motor Show 2020, and deliveries to the first customers will begin at the end of the twentieth year. The price of each Nissan GT-R50 is at least 990,000 euros (approximately 70 million rubles), and excluding taxes. The company reports that almost the entire edition has already been sold out, but a few free copies are still left.
