KUALA LUMPUR BEST FISHING SPOT FOR 2019

Kuala Lumpur Best Fishing Pond 2019 – 10 Jan 2019

It has been long overdue for us to update some of the best Fishing spots around Kuala Lumpur. Kuala Lumpur is one of the three Federal Territories of Malaysia, enclaved within the state of Selangor, on the central west coast of Peninsular Malaysia. Since the 1990s, the city has played host to many international sporting, political, and cultural events including the 1998 Commonwealth Games and the 2017 Southeast Asian Games. Kuala Lumpur has undergone rapid development in recent decades and is home to the tallest twin buildings in the world, the Petronas Twin Towers, which have since become an iconic symbol of Malaysian development. Still, with a long list of tourist attraction area, Kuala Lumpur still able to offer several fishing spots for a quick session. Here are some of the best fishing spot around Kuala Lumpur.

FISH VALLEY, SEMENYIH

Fishyology favourite freshwater fishing spot. Home to several freshwater species like the Common Carp, Pacu, Mekong Catfish, Freshwater Catfish, Red Tilapia, Giant Snakehead and a variety of carps. Making this pond as one of the best fishing spots for a family outing. Besides fishing, Fish Valley offers a great dining experience for local Chinese/Thai cuisine at their restaurant, ATV rides, Shooting Range and bike ride. Simply a great place for a weekend outing. I can imagine that the family guy would do their fishing and the kids can opt to do other stuff if the fish weren’t biting. Surrounded by the green mountain range and fresh air, which gives this place a spot in our Kuala Lumpur Best Fishing Pond list!

LS FISHING POND, KLANG

Home of the Goliath Grouper. One of a kind fishing pond that is stocked with hundreds of Giant Grouper. The smallest size is about 10KG and biggest we’ve caught is about 80KG, which is pretty massive!. One thing I like about this place, the pond never let you down. If you only have a few hours to spare, don’t like to wait too long for a bite and want to confirm that the end of the day you wanna show your friend you actually catch something. Then this is the place to go. Straight forward fishing with hook and bait and the best part confirmed catch. The massive fish would be a nice trophy for a quick fishing session here. If you still skunked, then you gotta work out on a new hobby.

PUCHONG PRIMA LAKE, PUCHONG

Next, on our Kuala Lumpur, Best Fishing Pond list is the Puchong Prima Lake. A man-made lake out in the middle of Puchong housing area. It’s not 100% natural ” ambience” but still it is not like an ordinary fishing pond. Target species in this pond is the Peacock Bass, Giant Snakehead and other freshwater species. Usually, local angler came here to get on their hands on the Peacock Bass. You might be thinking big peacock bass but, hay this not the Amazonas and we only have butterfly peacock bass here so the size is smaller. To able to land 45cm above specimen is a trophy catch out here. The lake is not for the faint of heart. You need to work hard to get your fish, but if you catch one it will be satisfying. Good for those who don’t like the fishing pond and does not have the time to travel outside KL.

HULU LANGAT FISHING RESORT, HULU LANGAT

Next on our list is Hulu Langat Fishing Resort. The place is pretty well set up with individual private chalet for fishing or the normal public platform. One thing I like about this place is the bait is standard and you can just buy them over the counter. You will get a guy who will mix it for you and you can start fishing after that. They also provide accommodation for a longer stay. Mekong Catfish, Siamese Carp, Amazon Catfish and Pacu are some of the species stocked in this pond. During weekdays there aren’t many people around so you can have a very private session out here. Bite rate though was quite slow compared to other fishing ponds around KL but still worth the visit.

JUGRA SW FISHING POND, JUGRA

Finally, last on the list is Kuala Lumpur best saltwater fishing pond. Jugra SW Fishing Pond is stocked with a variety of SW fish from Barramundi, Grouper, Redfish, GT and Snapper. There is 4 designated pond that is meant for catch and release. You may use a fishing lure or soft plastic in this pond. The other three ponds allow you to take home your catch. Mostly the catch is Barramundi and sometimes snapper. Again this pond has good bite rate but the place is quite secluded from the main road so getting there will be a challenge.
