Jon Rahm Admits He Still Watches the PGA Tour — and Wishes He Could Return

Jon Rahm admitted that he still tunes into the Pga Tour broadcasts because he is a fan of the game. He wishes he could return to the Tour, and is hopeful that a merger agreement will allow that to happen in the near future.

Rahm sent shockwaves through the golf world in December when he officially jumped from the PGA Tour to LIV Golf, taking a massive sum of money to join the biggest disruptor in golf in the past 50 years.

However, Rahm has been one of the most adamant that a deal between the PGA Tour and Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) needs to get done so he, and other defectors, can return and play some of the best events golf has to offer.

In the past Rahm has said that his defection to LIV was bittersweet because there are courses and events on the Pga Tour Schedule that mean a lot to him.

His narrative has not seemed to change, based on a recent interview with Golf:

“I still watched the broadcast. I still watch golf because I love watching it. But it’s hard. It was hard not to be at the Phoenix Open at the end of February, and it was hard not to be at Hawaii because it’s another tournament that my family enjoys and I’ve done fantastic on.”

Rahm went on to comment about the PLAYERS Championship, which took place last weekend:

“It was fun to watch, and what a finish. Jesus Christ, that was one that was fun to watch. I feel for Wyndham because to come back and play the last three holes the way he did and have that lip-out, it’s gut-wrenching to watch, but it made for great TV, and it was really fun.”

Rahm has been transparent that his decision did not come lightly. It was hard to pass up money that would take care of his family for generations to come. But he has also seemed to project some regret about leaving, wishing there were still some stops he could make on the PGA Tour schedule.
