Netflix announced that it would broadcast its first-ever live sporting event with the “Netflix Cup” golf tournament, which will put PGA Tour pros and Formula 1 drivers up against each other.
Rickie Fowler, Max Homa, Collin Morikawa, and Justin Thomas will be paired with one F1 driver, which includes a lineup of Williams’ Alex Albon, Alpine’s Pierre Gasly, McLaren’s Lando Norris and Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz.

An eight-hole tournament will slot out the top two PGA/F1 teams, who will then duel against the other in a winner-takes-all tournament just days before the F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix on November 18.
The event will take place at the Wynn Golf Club in Las Vegas, which has been the home to several Capital One’s The Match events, and will feature the Las Vegas Sphere in the background (of course).

Netflix is taking advantage of perhaps two of its biggest hits in terms of sports documentaries as both “Full Swing” and “Drive to Survive” were huge successes for the streaming service.
Netflix’s VP Gabe Spitzer said in a statement to Yahoo! Sports:
“We love to see how our sports series have brought increased fandom to sports leagues and competitions all over the world. The Netflix Cup will take that energy to the next level with global starts from two popular hits competing in our first-ever live sports event.”
The event will take place on November 14 at 6 P.M. E.T.
