Entire European Ryder Cup Team Scouts Golf Course and Enters DP World Tour Event

Since the teams were announced for the upcoming Ryder Cup, the odds have tightened a bit. At DraftKings, the United States was at -150 two weeks ago and now stands at -120 to beat the European team. Team Europe went from a +135 underdog down to +125. FYI- if you want to bet on a tie, you can get +1200 odds on that outcome.

Some analysts felt the Europeans have a better team from top to bottom, and they also haven’t lost on their home soil since 1993. But fresh in everyone’s minds is the beatdown the U.S. team handed out two years ago at Whistling Straits, winning 19-9.

Over the weekend, nine of the 12 members of the U.S. team visited Marco Simone Golf Club in Rome in advance of the event that begins two weeks from Friday.

Adding to the advantage, several members of the European team have played DP World Tour events at Marco Simone, with Matt Fitzpatrick and Nicolai Hojgaard winning at the course.

After the scouting mission, each member of the European team—including team captain Luke Donald—will play in the BMW PGA Championship in England, which is one of the DP World Tour’s flagship events.

On the U.S. side, Justin Thomas and Max Homa will take part in this weekend’s Fortinet Championship in Napa, California, which is the first event of the new PGA Tour Fall series. The following week, Brooks Koepka will play a LIV event in Chicago, and then it will be time for the Ryder Cup.
