Block Party: Keep An Eye Out For Michael’s Son Dylan

Michael Block stole everyone’s attention back at Oak Hill last week at the PGA. Since he finished T15th, he has secured the biggest paycheck of his career, secured his place in the 2024 PGA, and received multiple sponsors exemptions to PGA Tour events.

We have heard his story, and we’re not going to get tired of it anytime soon. However, he revealed on the Fore Play podcast this week that his teenage sons may be the next ones to capture our attention.

Michael’s eldest son Dylan is planning on turning pro imminently, with Block Sr stating he is ‘easily Rory length’ at just 18 years old – and that he got fitted for clubs recently, clocking 133mph club speed with a 3 wood. That is mind-boggling speed.

Block actually said he is so used to getting out-driven it no longer fazes him. He’s used to it from his own son!

With Dad’s assistance, perhaps taking 1 or 2 years to learn how to score, to ‘be able to 72 with your C game,’ Dylan can learn the essential step to making it on Tour, according to Block Sr.

He clearly has high hopes for his kids in the future.

What’s crazy is they might end up playing against one another. Both have qualified for the US Open Sectionals on June 5th at Hillcrest.

There may be a putt on the line that puts one Block with a chance of getting into the next major and knocks one Block out. Michael was asked what he’d do, first answering he would let his kid win, then changing his mind and deciding Dylan would never want to qualify that way. He’d rather they both qualified!

His youngest son, Ethan – was also playing at a high level in the California state championships, which is why they couldn’t be at Oak Hill.

Keep an eye out for these guys. May the Block party continue!
