SkyTrak+ Debuts, Combines Radar and Camera Detection

SkyTrak is one of the most-tenured names in consumer launch monitors—breaking into the marketplace back in 2017 while other brands were busy focusing on making 5-figure price tag “TOUR” monitors.

And it was instantly a hit; it could be used indoors and outdoors and provided golfers with accurate data and, through software updates that followed, and simulator experience.

But six years later, the marketplace is much more crowded, and the SkyTrak was due for an update.

So now we welcome the SkyTrak+, an all-new unit that is built on a dual doppler radar and photometric camera system to provide unmatched accuracy in its class.

So why two detection systems? The Dual Doppler Radar brings Club data to the forefront of the experience—giving SkyTrak users a vital, much-desired data point for game improvement—and delivers users with information concerning: Club Head Speed, Smash Factor, Club Path, and Face Angle. The improved photometric camera—which now has a 40% larger hitting area—gives golfers highly accurate and reliable ball tracking data. It is further worth noting that to ensure accurate detection on the SkyTrak+, no special balls and no club-head stickers needed.

As the above teaser photo of the new SkyTrak+ shows, the dual detection system will provide a comprehensive range of data points, including: Launch Angle, Total Spin, Decent Angle, Peak Height, Smash Factor, Ball Speed, Club Head Speed, Spin Angle, Spin Axis, Face to Path, Face to Target, Total Yards, and Carry Yards. And to help capture all this data, the SkyTrak+ is equipped with a new onboard processor for faster shot detection, as easy and secure connectivity to a wide range of PC and mobile devices.

As the teaser photo also alludes to, the SkyTrak+ will also come with a new and improved SkyTrak ShotOptimizer and Shot Score functionality. Users can now measure themselves against optimal shots and golfers of all skill levels pulled from their database of millions of golf shots. Target metrics will be displayed, with your performance colored in red, yellow, or green to signal if you’re outside, close, or within the target windows. And to help turn that red into a green, the new interface will link to informational tutorials from Golf Digest’s No. 22 teacher in the world, Nick Clearwater.

SkyTrak is also leveraging its over 70,000 members and access to over 100,000 golf courses to help offer the best gameplay simulation software in the industry. SkyTrak+ can instantly transport you to courses all around the world, including Pebble Beach Golf Links, Bandon Dunes, Torrey Pines, and many more, to play with your friends from the comfort of your home. SkyTrak will also be offering packages with leading sim partners like E6 Connect, WGT by TopGolf, The Golf Club 2019, and others.

So now that I have your attention with all the features of the SkyTrak+, there is really only one more question: price. I am very happy to say that the SkyTrak+ is currently pre-sale priced at $2,995.00 (and will ship in late May, giving you the whole summer to prepare for that club championship tournament). For those who haven’t been tracking the consumer marketplace, this is very competitive. Arguably its closest competitor is FlightScope’s Mevo+, which is a pure-radar system, does not feature a comparable game improvement package, and requires special balls and the Pro Package add-on for club head data, comes in a $3,199.00—more than the SkyTrak+. The Bushnell Launch Pro—which does not offer club head data—and Uneekor EYE MINI—which requires stickers to provide limited club data (Club Head Speed, Attack Angle, Smash Factor, and Club Path)—start at $3,499.00 and $4,500, respectively. To sum things up, the SkyTrak+ undercuts the competition while also offering more features!

As a result, SkyTrak has strategically positioned itself to (again) lead the consumer golf launch monitor/simulator marketplace.
