FootJoy Introduces New HyperFlex and HyperFlex Carbon Golf Shoes

FootJoy is introducing the new Hyperflex and HyperFlex Carbon golf shoes, bringing a continuation of improvement to its lineup that has gone on for a century.

The HyperFlex lineup helps golfers deliver power and control while bringing a comfortable fit to the course. The new technologies don’t only help promote more stability during play but also during your walks around uneven terrain on tough courses.

FootJoy’s new HyperFlex and HyperFlex Carbon offer Hyper Power, Hyper Control, and Hyper Fit, three developments that all offer distinct advantages that will help men and women of all ages and skills.

Hyper Power is an OptiFlex outsole design that promotes stability for the golf swing and also for walking. One of the most underrated pieces of a powerful and effective swing is overall stability, which allows you to stay balanced and alleviates variation from swing to swing. The OptiFlex outsole features a molded carbon fiber power plate that helps deliver tour-quality stability and performance. Additional comfort is added through underfoot cushioning with an OrthoLite® Impressions FitBed®.

Hyper Control is a Power Stabilizer outsole that harnesses lateral movement through the swing, ensuring a secure foundation for the weight transition and increasing stability and balance. FootJoy has also included a ThermoPlastic Saddle Strap that wraps around the foot, providing support both laterally and medially, supporting control and balance throughout the entire golf swing.

Hyper Fit helps offer custom-felt support and comfort designed specifically for golf. The design through the shoe’s midsole helps offer ideal cushioning for shock absorption while also maximizing energy return to reduce foot fatigue.

FootJoy has also implemented a WRAPID Fit System powered by BOA® on both models, which only costs a few dollars more. The asymmetrical configuration wraps around a player’s foot to provide a unique fit that is adjustable at the snap of your fingers.

Men’s HyperFlex Laced shoes will be available in White/Blue, Black, and Grey, while Women’s will be available in White/Purple, Gray, and Pink, and will cost $175. BOA® versions of the Hyperflex will be available in White, Charcoal, and Navy for Men and White/Purple and Gray for Women and will cost $210.

Meanwhile, the HyperFlex Carbon Laced will be available for Men only, available in White/White, White/Multi, and Black colors for $220. The BOA® configuration of this shoe is available in White or Black, and will cost $250.

FootJoy plans to launch the shoes on March 1st in retail locations everywhere.

For what it’s worth, I have had many different golf shoes over the years from many different manufacturers. A few years ago, I went with Adidas BOA® mid-tops, and they are still the most comfortable shoes I’ve had in terms of overall fit, and that’s 100% because of the BOA®. Adjustments were seamless and could be done while you’re driving the cart, or even before a shot if things aren’t comfortable, and only take a few seconds to complete.

FootJoy Traditions are what I have been wearing for the past six months, and they’ve been so comfortable. While laced, they still beat any other shoe I’ve worn that fits that profile, and I enjoy the look much more than the Adidas, as I was commonly asked if they were lacrosse cleats and not golf shoes.

FootJoy adding the BOA® to their new lineup for 2023 is a move that will surely create one of the best shoes that ever existed on the golf market, in my opinion.
