Abraham Ancer & Yuka Saso Sign Multi-Year Deals with Callaway Golf

Team Callaway is expanding.  After adding World No. 1 and defending U.S. Open champion Jon Rahm, Callaway is adding 2 more high-profile golfers to its ranks: Abraham Ancer and Yuka Saso.

Both golfers were both unsigned athletes who gamed a variety of clubs during their respective 2020-21 seasons, but both have decided to partner with Callaway Golf for the next few years.

Ancer, who will be making his Callaway debut this week at the Tournament of Champions, has made himself a more familiar name in recent years, including making the International Team for the 2019 Presidents Cup, runner-up finish at the 2021 Wells Fargo Championship and his first PGA TOUR victory at the 2021 WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational.

Ancer said in a statement released by Callaway:

“I’m excited to officially join Callaway, and after playing their equipment over the past several years, I feel really confident about making the switch…The performance from their drivers is always impressive, their putters are outstanding, and I’ve developed a strong relationship with their Tour Team. This is a great fit for me, and I can’t wait to get this new year started.”

On the PGA TOUR, Ancer will be joining a real powerhouse team, consisting of Rahm, Xander Schauffele, Phil Mickelson, Sam Burns, Ryan Moore, Marc Leishman, Kevin Na, Francesco Molinari, Henrik Stenson, Erik Van Rooyen, Danny Willett, Kevin Kisner and many, many others.

Although we’ll need to wait until tomorrow to confirm Ancer’s 2022 WITB, it is worth noting that he was playing the Callaway Epic Speed Triple Diamond and Odyssey White Hot No. 5 Stroke Lab putter as recently as November and, thus, Ancer has familiarity with Callaway equipment.

Likewise, up and coming LPGA star Yuka Saso will be bringing her skills to join Laura Davies, Madelene Sagström and Michelle Wie.

Indeed, Saso, who’s only 20 years of age and went pro in 2019, has already nailed down a LPGA Major victory at the 2021 U.S. Women’s Open and currently occupies the 8th spot on the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings.

Saso is probably most well known for her swing, which is modeled of Rory McIlroy’s.  Indeed, Saso watched clips of Rory as a teenager and has since modeling her game after his style.

Like Ancer, Yuka was an unsigned player during the 2020-21 LPGA golf season, but had a selection of Callaway clubs in her bag, including the Callaway Mavrik Sub Zero 3-wood and Callaway Mavrik 4H.
