If it wasn’t weird enough walking the grounds all week at Ridgewood not seeing or interacting with one of the most beloved in the game, well … it’s going to be another weird week.
Unfortunately, the Boston area fans will miss Fowler this week at TPC Boston due to a lingering oblique injury. The 29-year-old sits in a comfortable spot in the FedEx Cup standings at 22nd and already guaranteed himself a trip to the BMW Championship at Aroninmink in two weeks.

Honestly, I feel its a bold move but smart one. Come out strong and play well at the BMW and you’ll seal a strong chance for the FedExCup. But overall, Ryder Cup has a huge meaning to all of these guys; including Rickie Fowler.
Rickie won at TPC Boston three years ago; but something became obviously wrong during round 2 of the PGA Championship at Bellerive. Let’s observe and see how it plays out. For the meantime, the city of Boston has to deal with Tiger Woods to watch in a playoff event.
I’m sure Rick will figure it out.
