Quick Fixes: Installing wood grips on a Beretta 21A

Don't forget everyone, February 14th is Buy your Girl a Gun Day

I haven't done much work on guns over the last couple of years, that is about to change.

I had purchased a set of Factory walnut Grips for my Beretta 21A Bobcat pistol a while back and wanted to install them.

If you didn't know the Bobcat is chambered in 22 LR, its larger brother the Tomcat is chambered in .32 Auto, while the Tomcat frame is bigger, but uses the same grip panels.

Here is what it looked like with the factory plastic grips.

As per my normal luck, neither of the grips fit correctly.

The left side needed the hole for the ejector button opened up. the fit was very tight, not allowing the mag release button to return to its normal state.

The other side the screw holes did not line up at all.

I had to get out a sharp exacto knife and remove some material from the ejector buttonhole on one and the groove cut in the back of the grip panel on the other.

I had briefly thought about returning or exchanging them, but when you buy things online, returns become a huge hassle. So I made the adjustments and got them to fit.

They look much better than the factory plastic ones.

Overall, I am happy with them, but for the $40+ dollars I paid for them you'd think the quality of fit would have been better.
